Around the Barn!

Calicinto Kid's Ranch

Did you guess

"Faith"?

That's correct! Both of their names are Faith!

Faith, the horse, is a dun quarter horse. She was born at the ranch 9 years ago. Her mother, Spice also likes to give rides at Calicinto. Faith usually follows Kairos in the line up. They are buddies. Faith loves to nibble on carrots when she is not on the trail.

Faith, the wrangler is a very helpful volunteer at the ranch. She usually comes with her brother, Skylar and her mom, Lisa. Faith is homeschooled and really enjoys helping out at the ranch-especially the horses. Her favorite horse, you guessed it-Faith!

Do you know what "meekness" means?

The horse shows meekness by yielding its independence in exchange for safety. In the wild, horses surrender their independent wills to that of a lead stallion to gain the safety and strength of a herd. This fear instinct is used when gently taming a horse. We harness the horses strength and power by conquering it's fear. Taming a horse involves patiently showing a horse it will receive safety, care and provision in exchange for it's trust and loyalty. The true meaning of meekness is not one of weak pliability but strength under control!

Basically, meekness means "Yielding my personal rights (not getting my way) and expectations (expecting things from other people) with a desire to serve (help others)."

See how many times you can apply this today-our horses do this everyday!
