Generating a Godly Generation of Calicinto Kids!

Dear Calicinto Ranch Family,
We are excited about all that God has in store for Calicinto Ranch in 2008. He has been so faithful this past year! We had over 400 campers come to Spring Break Camp, Summer Camp and Leadership Camps!! We’ve also had over 1,000 guests come with retreats, school field trips, youth groups, mens retreats and more!! To God be all the glory!!

As many of you know we’ve had the blessing of working with Prison Fellowship and the DeVos Scholarship for the past few years. We are so thankful for our wondeful friends at Prison Fellowship. Unfortunately, the funding for the DeVos Scholarship has come to an end and is no longer available to our campers. Just because the scholarship is finished doesn’t mean the work is! There are still so many children of prisoners to reach in our target area of Southern California! Over these past few years God has uniquely brought different churches and organizations to Calicinto, and many of you-- who were able to share the awesome ministry God has at the Ranch. He has given us a wonderful Calicinto Family!

This brings us to Project 2008. Our goal for Summer 2008 is to have a donor team of 500 donors (monthly or one time) give financially towards our summer goal of having 500 kids to camp--Each gift, can and will benefit a Calicinto Kid. At camp we use the analogy of a generator when we talk about giving. Individually we may not be able to give a large amount but I can generate awareness of the need to others--and find they have a desire to invest too!

The cost to send one child to camp is $165 as a one time gift– or it’s $13.75 a month, $3.44 a week, or $.049 a day. It sound so simple when you break it down--this is something you can do to invest in the lives of the most At Risk Children in the United States. Help us take off the labels society has put on the children of prisoners--help us generate a Godly generation of Calicinto Kids!!
